QUIVER

Quiver was inspired by the concept of freedom and restraints. Freedom as a loose metaphor, a constant dialogue and dichotomy of both positive and negative. The concept of quiver is open to interpretation, and is as subtle as the quivering movement of a bird’s light flutter of wings. Iconic symbols of restraint methods such as chains, key locks, handcuffs and cages have been turned into delicate miniature objects of reference. These symbols of restraint methods are contrasted by pairing them with birds, keys and amethyst stones to create an allegory of movement, stillness, openness and closure.

It is a reminder to pick up that Bubble Wand, blow a few soapy wishes, and in the paraphrased words of poet Mary Oliver “think again of dangerous and noble things.. be light and frolicsome, improbable, beautiful.. and afraid of nothing. As if you had wings.”
